What's new?

Well, I realize I haven't posted for a while and not even sure people still are interested in my life :o) haha.
I have no new pictures because we haven't done much lately. I post some new ones as I take some.

Well, our big news is that we are having a baby. Some of you already know this because it's found it's way around. We are currently 21 or 23 weeks along. The reason we don't know is because I didn't have a dating ultrasound because I found out we were expecting when we were already 7 1/2 weeks and by that time, we couldn't get in to have one. So I took my temp. charts to my midwife and they calculated Feb 20th as my due date but when we went for our ultrasound they said the baby is measuring 2 weeks earlier or we are just going to have a large baby :o). Jon was just over 11 lbs so I guess it's not that off to think we may just be having a large baby. So my due date is sometime in Feb :o). I'm not getting really tied up with a due date because I don't want to be induced if really the original due date was what it should've stayed at. Anyway, we are thrilled and I have felt fabulous. I was never sick and my belly is growing quite well.

I guess nothing really tops that news but we are having a Japanese student stay with us for 3 weeks. Her name is Yukiko and she arrived today. She seems lovely but doesn't speak a lot of English. We will enjoy having her for 3 weeks.

Jon's sister, brother-in-law and niece arrive from PNG a week today and we are so excited to see them, as it's been 1 year and Ada was only 1 when they left so she will have changed a lot. They are staying for 3 months and expecting their second child while they are here, at the end of Nov. We are so excited to be able to spend Christmas with them this year.

Well, I guess that's about it.

Hope you are all doing well.

Holiday out East

Jon and I went out east for 12 days this summer. We spent 4 days with my friends in Montreal, 3 days in the mountains of Quebec in a beautiful chalet, 3 days at the Fairmount in Ottawa, and 3 days in Mississagua. In Montreal, we walked a lot, rode bikes, ate at cute restaurants, and laughed a lot. At the chalet, we read, swam, kayaked, jetskied, and enjoyed the sunshine! In Ottawa, we toured and walked a lot. We toured parliament hill, the royal canadian mint, the Fairmount hotel, and the aviation museum. And back in Toronto we went to the CN Tower, went to a Jays vs. Red Sox game, went to Niagara Falls, and hung out at the pool again enjoying the sun. It was alovely holiday.

Photos of what I've been up to lately...

Here is a recent photo of Kenya and Toomuch (my parent's new Bernese Mountain dog). She is getting so big and is so much fun.

We went to Rolley Lake for a celebration with friends to celebrate two birthdays and a graduation. We played with a huge Oaxacan balloon that was 20 feet long. We had so much fun throwing it in the air and trying to keep it up. The rest of the beach thought we were lunatics :o).

Here is Toomuch. He is 6 months old.

These are some photos my friend took of me and some friends just before we got disbanded and I resigned. I LOVE them all because they capture many great memories for me at the firehall.

The photo of Sash and I is at the 3 Alarm Adventure Race that I helped coordinate. It was on May 3rd and was a great success. We had 20 teams of 4 participating and raising money for the Abbotsford Firefighters Burn Fund.

The other photo is of another couple from our LifeGroup and we played games all night that evening. Karly taught me to put peanut butter M&Ms on popcorn as well as chocolate chips and it was amazing. We were all stuffed by the end of the night. We played games until 2 am :o) on Spring break.

The last photo is me at Ross doing a safety and fire gear talk with my grade 3s.

In other news, there is 1 more week of school left until summer holidays - YIPPEE and I have a job lined up for September at Terry Fox, teaching P.E. 3 days a week. I am so thankful and very excited about this new job for next year.

Hope you are all doing well.

MEET KENYA (our newest addition)

After her 1st bath, all snuggled in a blanket.

Kenya is a pure bred Alaskan Malamute. I fell in love with the breed because they look so much like Huskies. The breeder was so lovely to work with. She lived in Williams Lake and gave me updates ALL the time. We picked her up on Saturday, April 18th. She is my new baby, literally, because I woke up every two hours to take her out to pee and then stretched it to 3 hours, last night 2.5 hours. She is doing great! We have our physical check-up today. I am so in love with her :o). (can you tell? how can I not be? she is just so darn cute)

Her 1st bath - she wasn't a big fan but she did great!

Playing in the backyard.

She is 6 weeks old (ie not vaccinated) so we had to set up the x-pen on the drive home so that she could pee in there and not be on area where other dogs may have been.

Do I have to say anything?! - oh my word, she is just so cute

More of my new cutie, in the car on the way back from Williams Lake.

When we finally chose her. There were 3 females that we had the choice of and we picked Kenya because she will look like her mother, her facial features were awesome, she came to play with us, she let us roll her over and liked having her tummy rubbed.

Cool chick driving in the car.

Blizzard her mother.

Bandit her father.

Me and the 3 females.

And the last photo to leave you with, my cute little raccoon :o)

Valentine's Day breakfast with dear friends. Great way to start off a great Valentine's Day.

I got some bad news 2 weeks ago. My fire hall, auxiliary hall 1 is being disbanded. We will be disbanding at the end of April. We are all being put to new halls. I am supposed to be going to hall 3 which is on the Aldergrove border. I will probably be resigning at that point because it is so far out that I will never be able to make a truck. It will take me 17 mins to respond and by then the house will be burned to the ground. It is perfect timing really. So I have come to terms with it, my fire career has been so much fun while it lasted. I have made great friends and learned incredible things as well as experienced unreal things. God's plan is perfect!

My beautiful nephew.

A public education event with the fire hall.

Izzy's 3rd birthday. We had so much fun. He is such a great boy! And one of my favorite people to spend time with.

Our first snowman built at our new house. It was perfect! We had so much fun.

Thanks for reading.

If you could leave a comment that you stopped by that would be great cause I wasn't going to continue with blogging cause I felt that no one read it.

Long awaited Dominican Photos
